This just in—reckless student behavior leads to less than optimal outcome. As Claude Rains says in Casablanca, “I’m as shocked as you are!”

BRIEF DETAILS:
This morning at approximately 12:35 a.m., University Police received a report of an incident that had occurred 35 minutes earlier. A group of female students had stripped down to their underwear and were swimming in the McKeldin Mall fountain. They placed their clothing and property alongside the fountain. While they were swimming, a group of about eight to 10 males and females approached and took their property. One of the victims also reported that one of the males had grabbed her buttocks during the incident. The group of thieves fled from the area, leaving a trail of the victims’ property, which ended near the Mowatt Lane Garage. While a good portion of the victims’ property has been recovered, there are still a few items that have not been recovered. No injuries were reported.
